Hello Everyone, in June 2018 I was contacted by Casey Smith QA Manager at EC Throsby asking me to attend site as a consultant in Singleton to view and advise improvements on their cleaning cycle. I attended the site and stayed the whole night right through to Pre-Op so I was able to view everything. A report was provided to EC noting my observations and advice on improving. We booked a trial with one of our machines to help EC Throsby better understand how time and labour would be saved.

Boning Room Cleaning

After a good month of trialling, it was obvious to EC that they would save labour and speed up time and they purchased 5 machines. Over the 12 months between 2018-2019 we noted that the company had saved 25% labour, I had attended site every 3 months throughout the year to make sure that they got the best out of the equipment. I was really proud to be helping EC Throsby with their cleaning and was happy that they trusted me, it was a great pleasure working together. They are an extremely energetic, can do group of people.

By September 2019 we were planning to trial 2 hour and 15 minute cleans between the kill floor and boning room, this was the plan to increase production. I thought it was very smart to practice this on the last day of the production for the week for several weeks to see the results.

We used the SRT mobile cleaning trolley which can run at 85 degrees @ 50LPM. I was in charge of using the machine on the kill floor and through to the boning room wherever I could reach basically, and I went for it.

EC watched the videos on Monday and purchased the machine. The flow and temperature just peels fat like you have never seen before. The story of cooking on blood is also not true when running with these parameters.

One year on

So at just over a year later I have attended site January 2021 and they are comfortably running a 2 hour cleaning cycle production finishing at 2am on the kill floor and 2.45 by the time the boning room is finished.  2 hours later production staff are walking in to get ready to go again.  I must say I am thoroughly impressed with what I witnessed, and EC Throsby are maximising 100% out of their plant.  I have said from the start that they have lots of energy and just get things done.
